Step by Step Four Leaf Clover & Martenitsa

A Step by Step tutorial, just in time for the upcoming holiday here in my country- 1st of March - 'Baba Marta'. We have a tradition to give and recieve martenitsi on that day so here is one idea of making a nail decoration in this spirit.

Here is what you`ll need:
- base coat, white polish, top coat, white, black, red, light and dark green acrylic paint, regular and detailed brush.

Now let`s see the steps:

1. Apply the base coat and make the french in white.
2. When it`s dry start painting the leaves of the four leaf clover with light green paint. Make the leaf heart- shaped.
1.
2.

3. Paint the rest three leaves.
4. Make the handle of the four leaf clover and some thin dark green lines in the middle of each leaf.
3.
4.

5. Outline with black paint.
6. Make the tie of the martenitsa with white paint where you want it to be.
5.
6.

7. Add the red lines to make it look like martenitsa.
8. Outline it with black paint.

8.

9. Don`t forget to apply top coat as a final step!

Swallow and Stork 2

Hello!

Continuing with the decorations with martenitzi, here is this one ->

I made the same Swallow & Stork maybe a week ago.
This time I used white polish for the other nails. And not only white but champagne white :)
It`s from Orly- Au, Champagne!

Over the white I painted the white- red tie of the martenitza.

Covered with a coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Red and White

Hello!

In today`s post I`ll show you some designs, perfect for the upcoming 1st March and for our country`s tradition with martenitzi.

This one I made on my mother`s natural nails.
This well known design for those of you who know my work, you can see in different colours here and here.  She loves this design! And this time we made it in red and white.

I used Flormar Supermatte M101 in only one coat for the juicy red polish.
The rest is hand- painted with acrylic paints.

The second design is again with the same red polish.

But this time we have white and red flowers, painted with acrylic paints on the index and thumb nails.

And the next one is made in 2011, but I haven`t showed it to you ->

Here we have permanent french with UV gel and then the decoration- one stroke  flowers in red and white and the tie of martenitza floating around from nail to nail.

Hope you like them!
Next post will be in the same spirit- martenitzi :)

Swallow & Stork

Hello again!

This time the decoration will be with swallow and stork, wearing something traditional for beginning of March for our country- martenitza.

For the beautiful red polish I used Opi- The Spy who loved me from the James Bond collection.
You can see another nails with this polish here.

As for the decoration- I have it on tips from about two years but I`m doing it on nails for first time :)

Covered all with a coat of Seche Vite top coat.

One pic without flash ->

And the nails before the UV gel refill, 28 days old ->

You can find the decoration and step by step tutorial of the design here ->
